Cookie Policy

The short version: kliksight.com currently sets no cookies of its own. No advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, no tracking. That is not an oversight; it is how a measurement company that argues for consent-gated collection ought to run its own website. If that ever changes, this page changes first, and any consent the law requires is obtained before a single non-essential cookie is set.
1. What this policy covers
This policy covers cookies and similar technologies (localStorage, sessionStorage, pixels and comparable browser storage) on kliksight.com and its subdomains, including the customer dashboard. It explains what is in use today, category by category, what is set by third parties in specific flows, and how changes are handled. Cookies set on other companies' websites by the Kliksight measurement tag are addressed separately in section 5, because the answer there is a point of principle for us.

3. Our rule for changes
If we introduce a new cookie or similar technology on kliksight.com, we follow this order, every time: this policy is updated first, with the cookie named, its purpose and duration stated, and its category identified; where the cookie is not strictly necessary, a consent mechanism is deployed and your consent is obtained before it is set; and strictly necessary cookies, which the law does not require consent for, are still disclosed here before they appear. The version and effective date at the top of this page tell you whether anything has changed since you last read it.
4. Your choices
Because there is nothing non-essential to refuse, there is currently no cookie banner on kliksight.com, and that is the honest configuration: a banner with nothing behind it trains people to click through consent requests that do matter. You can additionally control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them; blocking strictly necessary storage may prevent dashboard sign-in or checkout from working, and has no effect on the public website, which sets nothing.
5. The measurement tag on our customers' websites
The Kliksight tag, which our customers deploy on websites whose advertising we measure, sets no cookies and reads none. After advertising-storage consent is granted, and only on the heartbeat path, it stores a single session-scoped marker in sessionStorage: a key naming that website’s public site key, with the value "1", containing no visitor, user or device identifier. Its only purpose is to avoid transmitting the same event twice in one session, and it is cleared when the browsing session ends. Where a click identifier is present, the tag sends the visit and writes nothing to storage at all. Beyond that marker, nothing is written to your device in any case. 6. The law this policy answers to
In South Africa, the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 governs any personal information involved in cookie use. For visitors from the EEA and UK, the ePrivacy rules require consent for storage on or access to your device that is not strictly necessary, and our rule in section 3 is written to that standard for everyone, not only where it is compulsory. Where any applicable law gives you more protection than this policy states, the law prevails.
